      Monstera Tissue Culture and Plugs

Owning your own rare Monstera varieties is easier than ever by starting with tissue culture plantlets or plugs. Although many varieties can grow into giants, we start them off small so you can benefit from top-quality stock and have the joy of nurturing gorgeous Monstera plants.

Understanding the difference between Monstera tissue culture plants and plugs is essential before welcoming new Monstera plants into your home. This is what you need to know:

      • Monstera plugs: These are mini-plants that have already been acclimatized and come well- rooted in our growing medium. Your new Monstera plant will be ready to be transplanted into a 2-4 inch pot.
      • Monstera tissue culture: This is where science meets horticulture! Tissue culture plants make owning rare Monstera species at affordable prices possible. Tissue culture plants arrive enclosed and packaged in a sterile gel growing medium called agar. The plants must slowly acclimate to ambient air and need grow lights for at least a week. Fortunately, the process is not complicated. Just follow some simple steps, and you will soon be showing off your exotic and rare Monstera species grown from tissue cultures to your family and friends.

      Monstera Care

Monsteras are known as easy-care houseplants that are generally also resistant to pests. They typically have the following care requirements:

      • Sunlight: Give them indirect bright sunlight — the large leaves can burn in direct sunlight.
      • Watering: Regular watering is required, but allow the top 2 inches to dry out between waterings.
      • Temperature: Their ideal temperature range is between 65 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Monsteras are tropical plants, so they struggle if the temperature falls below 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
      • Humidity: These tropical beauties love humidity, so if you don't have a humidifier, add an easy DIY pebble tray.
