About Monstera Albo

The Monstera Albo is one of the most desired plants in the plant industry. The white variegation on the gorgeous fenestrated leaves makes them instantly recognizable and gives proud growers bragging rights! This Monstera variety's unique coloring is caused by a genetic mutation that inhibits chlorophyll production in some parts of the plant. Since this highly desirable mutation is rare, Monstera Albo plants are incredibly eye-catching and collectible.

Tissue Culture Acclimation

It's natural to feel excited when your Monstera Albo tissue culture plantlets arrive. Our comprehensive acclimation guide includes helpful step-by-step videos and contains all the information necessary to welcome your new additions and give them the best start. Like all new babies, your tiny Monstera Albo plants need time and attention to adjust to the environment.

While it's essential to review the complete guide to boost acclimation success, here's a summary of the main steps:

Step 1: Do not do anything to the cultures for 1-2 days to allow them to adjust to their new temperatures.

Step 2: Open the package and wash out the jelly as thoroughly as possible. A small paintbrush can be used to assist with the cleaning process.

Step 3: Soak them in a rooting hormone if available. This step is not necessary for success.

Step 4: Plant your cultures in the medium of your choice. We recommend a chunky blend of coco husk and perlite (available for purchase in our add-on collection).

Step 5: Place them in a closed package (container or plastic bag) while allowing light to pass through. Place under a grow light.

Step 6: Leave plants covered for the first 7 days. During the following 7 to 10 days, slowly expose them to ambient air. Gradually expose the plants to more air daily until fully acclimated.

It is up to the customer to provide suitable acclimation to the plantlets. We are happy to help answer any questions you may have regarding the process of acclimating plants. Orange Lake Nursery will not be held liable for Monstera Albo plantlets that do not survive acclimation. If you have any concerns about the condition the plantlets arrived in, you must reach out on the same day of delivery with photos of their condition. By purchasing this product, you agree to these terms.

*These instructions are a VERY BRIEF overview of the acclimation process. Please complete your own research before purchasing. The acclimation process will vary from location to location, depending on the environment and medium used. OLN will not be held liable for mishaps during the acclimation process. By purchasing this product, you agree to these terms.*

Monstera Albo Care Requirements

Your tissue culture Monstera Albo should only move onto its long-term care plan after it has been successfully acclimatized. Get the best from your rare jungle beauty with:

  • Light: It needs at least six hours of bright indirect light each day. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can quickly scorch the leaves.
  • Temperature: As a true jungle plant, your Monstera Albo loves warm, damp conditions. Maintain steady temperatures of between 65 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit, and position it away from cold drafts.
  • Humidity: High humidity levels are recommended. Mist the plant regularly, or use a humidifier to increase air moisture in dry conditions.
  • Watering: Keep soil damp but never waterlogged. Ensure the pot has sufficient drainage.
  • Soil: Use a rich, organic mix that includes coco husk and perlite.
  • Fertilizing: Keep your Monstera Albo in show condition with regular applications of Orange Lake Nursery fertilizer.
