Watch our step-by-step video instructions on our How To Acclimate Your Tissue Culture blog!
- Step 1- Do not do anything to the culture for 1-2 days to allow them to adjust to the temperature in their new environment
- Step 2- Open the package & wash the agar jelly off the plant as thoroughly as possible. We strongly recommend using running water. A small paint brush can be gently used to assist with the cleaning process. This is one of the most important steps of the process.
- Step 3- Plant your cultures in the medium of your choice. We recommend a chunky blend of coco husk & perlite. We utilize acclimation plugs although there are many great mediums available.
- Step 4- Place them into a clear sealed package (container or plastic bag). Within 24-hours your container will have water droplets forming, which will confirm the container is at 100% humidity.
- Step 5-Place under a grow lights for between 8 & 14 hours a day
- Step 6- Leave plants covered for the first 7 days. The following 7 to 10 days slowly expose plants to ambient air. Each day exposing the plants to slightly more air until fully acclimated.
Our acclimation kits will contain all of the tools necessary for success. Just add water & grow lights to the simple acclimation process to produce healthy acclimated plants!

How to Care for Philodendron Gloriosum Pink Back
Taking care of your Philodendron Gloriosum Pink Back is easy if you follow these tips:
-
Light: Place your plant in bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can burn the delicate leaves.
-
Temperature: Keep the plant in a warm spot between 65–85°F. Protect it from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.
-
Humidity: This plant thrives in high humidity. Mist the leaves regularly, use a humidifier, or group it with other plants to create a more humid environment.
-
Watering: Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Keep the soil moist but not soggy. Make sure your pot has drainage holes to prevent water buildup.
-
Soil: Use a loose, well-draining soil mix with ingredients like coco husk, perlite, and peat moss. This will help the roots breathe and prevent overwatering. We have both in our inventory!
-
Fertilizer: Feed your plant once a month during the growing season (spring and summer) with Orange Lake Nursery Fertilizer to keep it healthy and growing strong.
