Euphorbia Trigona (African Milk Tree)

A Cactus Vibe with a Gothic Twist! Euphorbia Trigona ‘Rubra’, also known as the African Milk Tree, is a striking architectural stunner with dramatic reddish-purple stems and deep burgundy leaves. Native to Central Africa, this succulent looks like it was designed by nature with a ruler—upright, angular, and ready to add a little attitude to your plant shelf.

Despite its edgy appearance, ‘Rubra’ is surprisingly low-maintenance. It thrives on neglect, loves the sun, and asks only one thing of you: don’t overwater it. It’s technically not a cactus (it’s a euphorbia), but it brings major cactus energy—just with more color and flair.

Plant Features:

• Light: Bright, indirect to full sun. Can handle more sun than most houseplants, especially when acclimated gradually, to bring out its deepest colors
• Water: Water sparingly. Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. When in doubt—don’t.
  
• Humidity: Thrives in average home humidity. Prefers temps above 60°F. Protect from frost.
  
• Growth: Upright, branching columnar succulent. Can grow several feet tall over time with proper care.
